USA Archery Names Lincoln As Host Site For 2026 Archery Events

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — USA Archery on Saturday announced Lincoln as a host site for two national archery events in 2026.

At the end of July, the best young archers in the county will compete in the WIAWIS USA Archery JOAD Target Nationals and the JOAD U.S. Open at the Lincoln Sports Foundation.

“We’re really looking forward to it,” said USA Archery CEO Rod Menzer. “I think people are excited to go there. It’s a college town and a winning town. So, our athletes get a chance to go and see what Husker hospitality is like. And this event keeps getting bigger and bigger.”

The site for the JOAD Target Nationals & JOAD U.S. Open sits on more than 100 acres and caters for indoor and outdoor events.

Of those 100 acres, 60 are professionally maintained fields, which will welcome the top young barebow, compound, fixed pins and recurve archers a little over a year from now.

Derek Bombeck, the Director of Sports with Visit Lincoln, said, “We’re very excited to have the USA Archery JOAD Target Nationals & JOAD U.S. Open in Lincoln, Nebraska. It’s a great community right in the central part of the United States, with a lot to do.”

“We want to be as creative as we can to make it unique to Lincoln and just blow it out of the water to make sure all the contestants and participants enjoy their experience and Lincoln want to come back for future years,” said Bombeck.
